  • Jack B, X'd out, temporarily says:

I don’t think anyone ever told me, I just knew intuitively not to button it.

I wasn’t told a reason, just suppose it was a given, like zipping one’s fly all the way to the top.

My opinion of someone who buttons the top button on a short sleeve shirt is that they are perhaps rather particular, socially awkward(i.e., NERD), or hiding a hickey.

  • turtles all the way down says:

    1. Can’t remember.

    2. It’s more comfortable, and buttoning the top button is unnecessary.

    3. He/she isn’t bothered by buttoning it to the top. There’s one short-sleeve shirt I have that I almost always button to the top simply because of how big the neck on the shirt is.

  • G's Random Thoughts says:

No one ever told me that… I wonder if thats why people say "look here comes a member of the nerd herd" when I walk down the aisles at walmart wearing my trusty pocket protector

  • Robert Abuse says:

    1: When wearing ones cravat.
2: The high temperatures of the tropics.
3: He has no means with which to purchase a cravat.

  • M (Sarcophilis harrisii) says:

It was read to me as a child: "Clasp not thy sleeveless garment to thy neck as do thee heathen, who fornicate with hoofed creatures. Wear not thy man tassels, in blatant adornment, to gain favor with succubi."

  • Nijg says:

    1. Last year
    2. They said I was "too nerdy"
    3. none
    4. Because it is very religious and spiritual
